W.E.B. Du Bois Regional Middle School

Week at a Glance and News and Notes

Note from the Principal:

In an even bigger move to normalcy we had Halloween this week at DBM!  It was so much fun to see the costumes and the energy and the kids.  This has been quite a journey since March, and every week seems to get closer to making sense, and figuring how to do education in a pandemic.  I have appreciated the collaboration with you all, the feedback from families and the patience as we find out what works best for students.  I got to do more of what I love to do this week–get around to classes, see great instruction and talk with students about what they are doing.  There are some amazing discussions going on–in full but small classes, between students on the screen and in class, and in small groups–and some deep work for classes.  Next week we have a professional learning day on Tuesday–very important for educators to check in, share experiences, and do some detailed planning for the next weeks.

Have a good and spooky weekend!

Our photographers from O’Connor Studios have a plan to keep it safe for our students and their staff.  Soon you should be receiving an email from O’Connor Studios with details on ordering pictures.  Picture day for  Cohort B will be Tues. Nov. 17 and Cohort C will be on Fri. Nov. 20.  If your student is in Cohort D and you would like to have their picture taken, you should come on the day of your child’s B or C Cohort.  Please stay tuned for more details on that.
