Monument Valley Regional Middle School

Week at a Glance and News and Notes

Note from the Principal:

As Superintendent Dillon shared, the district schools will be closed beginning on Monday, March 16 for two weeks.  We will continue to monitor the situation and provide regular updates. The school will be open from 8:00-11:00 on Monday for families who need to come in to pick up medication from the nurses’ office.  If you are unable to make it at that time please reach out to me directly via email or phone (ben.doren@bhrsd.org or 413-644-2300).  After that time the buildings will be closed to the public.  We will respond to phone calls and emails throughout our closure.

Until we update families on the start of classes again, students can access materials to keep up to date on skills and content.  Please follow this link to access Team Websites:

https://mvrms.bhrsd.org/team-resources/

On the webpage you will find a link to get to your child’s class websites.  The websites for each Grade Team and for Exploratory classes have two sections.  One is for the “Marching Work” and the other is for “Blizzard Bags” on each site.  Students can complete the work to stay current. The work will be used in class once they return to school, similar to a summer reading assignment, but for all core and Exploratory subjects.

All extracurricular activities for the next two weeks are cancelled as well, including Project Connection, musical rehearsals and the dance.  We will resume activities once school starts up again.

As this situation develops, we will update families on new information and details.  Please look for emails next week from Superintendent Dillon and from me. We are very concerned about the health and safety of our students and families, and are responding to the situation with an overabundance of caution.  Please reach out to me or the office if you have questions or concerns.

Thanks, and be well,

Ben
