Calling all interested students!

Open Thought Productions from New York City will once again return to Monument Valley for a week-long lively arts residency.

Students who participate in this program will collaborate in innovative programming to create a multi-dimensional performance,which will be shared during evening of Nov. 30th at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center, who are the generous sponsors of this residency.

We are looking for MV students in grades 6-8  who play instruments, enjoy spoken word and poetry, students who may be singers, and who are interested in Hip Hop and expressive styles of movement. Sessions will include in beatboxing, Dj’ing and more!

The workshops take place at Monument Valley for one hour each day Monday-Thursday during the week of November 26-30th.

On the Friday of that week, students will travel to the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center for a half-day rehearsal in preparation for the evening community performance. Three schools from Berkshire County will participate and work together to create this exceptional event. Students must be able to perform in the evening on Nov. 30th.

Past experience has shown this to be a fabulous celebration of talent.

Artists include Baba Israel, Yako 440, and Ken Fury, dancer, and Grace Galu, singer.
