Monument Valley Regional Middle School

Week at a Glance and News and Notes

Note from the Principal:

Wow!  One full week left, and then a few more days the following week!  As we wrap up this year it is easy to get distracted in the whirlwind of activity as we finish up classes and the school year.  Today I was reflecting on how far our students come in a year, and how much they grow over the four year journey here from fifth to eighth grade.  I love this time of year to observe the fourteen year olds and the ten year olds–they grow so much, mature so much, accomplish so much in the time they are here.  We love teaching here at MV, and it is a great reward to see how much they grow.  Our Exploratory teachers are the only ones who really see them grow all four years in classes, and those of us in the office get to connect through that time.  But it is also the hard work of the grade level teachers that drives the annual growth.  As we finish up the year, please take the time to appreciate our educators–the teachers, paraprofessionals and staff that make Monument Valley hum.  They work hard all year, and the effort shows.  Your children are a blessing for us, and we are lucky to be in a profession where we love to do what we do.  Enjoy this weekend (and remind your kids that school is going for 7 and half more days, please!)

Ben
