Monument Valley Regional Middle School

Week at a Glance and News and Notes

Note from the Principal:

Week five was full steam ahead.  Students have settled into the routines and know what is expected of them, and that makes learning flow.  I am impressed with how well students are taking to instruction this year, and the reason is the teaming that teachers and paras do through the week.  Students at Monument Valley feel like they are a part of something, and that is very much their grade.  The teachers and paras work as a team to make connections between classes, to rally around students who need help and to push students to their potential.  It takes a lot of work to stay ahead of the curriculum and student development, and I am appreciative of the professionalism and care of the staff here at MV.  One thing that makes a difference and helps me understand what we need is parent feedback and input.  We have a School Council that meets monthly, and I would like to open it up this year to make it a larger parent advisory group.  Our next meeting is on Tuesday, October 17 from 3-4 pm here at MV.  Please join us.  If you cannot make that time and are interested, let me know—if there are enough we can find another time or a second meeting.  And, as always, a note or a call is always welcomed if you have feedback or a question.

Have a great weekend,

Ben Doren
