Monument Valley Regional Middle School

Week at a Glance and News and Notes

Note from the Principal:

This has been our first full week, and what a great week it was.  The school is really humming, and the nice weather has made it a pleasant week.  Classes are in full swing, and projects are on the move across the school.  It was great to see all the families who joined us for our Meet the Teachers evening on Tuesday.  We received a lot of positive feedback from parents about what they learned about their children’s programs, and many of you patronized the Scholastic Book Fair—thank you!  Next week starts the Penny War fundraiser—students compete between Advisories to raise funds to donate to the American Red Cross for Hurricane relief.  Community Advisory is in full swing on Tuesdays—we circle up in small groups and are starting to get to know each other.  Academic Advisory on Wednesdays is focusing the start of the year on getting to know each other as learners and think about an area of growth for the school year for each student.  We are looking at your children as full learners and not just kids who shuffle through the schedule—this takes determination and focus, and our faculty work very hard to know each student and craft the best learning experience for all.

Have a great weekend!
